The Springs News NOTE: This newsletter is being kept for archive purposes.
Last quarter assessment is due on or before October 15, 2003. If not paid by the 15th, a late fee will be charged.
There has been some vandalism in The Springs recently. The timer at the front entrance was broken. Also, someone keeps dialing *69 on the phone at the clubhouse. The Springs gets charged 95 cents each time that number is dialed. If you see any vandalism, please contact Hank Shupe.
The Telephone Calling Committee would like to thank all its callers for the prompt and courteous manner in which they inform residents of social events, emergencies, and informational calls for The Springs. Please realize that not everyone gets the word due to not being home at the time of the call or not having an answering machine where a message can be left. The Committee members do all they can do and if you don't get a message, we're sorry.
The Yalaha Holiday Food Drive is just around the corner. For the past five years, Gene Dent of 5 Live Oak Avenue has gathered, boxed, and delivered food for the less fortunate in the Yalaha area. Gene says this has been a holiday tradition for at least 16 years. T.J. Townsend was in charge of this tradition before asking Gene to take over. Gene will be gathering, sorting, sacking, and boxing food again this year and will appreciate all non-perishable foods and cash until about December 20th. He will have shelves, boxes, and bags in his garage ready to fill, hoping the people of The Springs will find it in their hearts to give generously to this worthy endeavor. Let's not let him or the less fortunate of our Yalaha area down. Drop off your gift of food or money to Gene between now and December 20th at his home or bring your donation to the clubhouse on Saturday, November 29th when you come for your coffee and donuts and to purchase your luminaries. The Social Committee will make sure it gets to Gene's garage. Gene says, "I sincerely thank everyone who has helped in the past and look forward to the task again this year."
